What's Happening in Week 6?
Your baby is now about the size of a lentil! The heart is beating at around 100-160 beats per minute. Facial features like the eyes, nose, and ears are beginning to take shape. Small buds that will become arms and legs are also forming.
An ultrasound scan at this stage can often detect the heartbeat — a moment many parents treasure.
Tips for Week 6
- This is a good time to book your first early pregnancy scan
- Morning sickness may peak around weeks 6-8
- Stay hydrated, especially if you're experiencing nausea
- Get plenty of rest - fatigue is common
